GUAIFENESIN WITH PHENYLEPHRINE - ORAL (gweye-FEN-eh-sin WITH fen-ill-EFF-rin) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Amidal, Endal, Numonyl, Quindal, Sinupan USES: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congetsion. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. This combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness. HOW TO USE: Take this medictaion by mouth.
Tablets should be swallowed whole. Do not crush or chew them.
If stomach upest occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. Do not raise the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed. It is recommended to drink plenty of fludis (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, ifnorm your doctor. Notify your docotr if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggarvate this effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, lievr disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures.

This drug sohuld be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk and benefits with your doctor.
It is not knwon if this medication appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, medication for high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have, in the last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linzeolid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, numbness of the fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures. NOTES: Do not share this product with ohters.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
